5 Stars stopped my eye infections
I switched to Clear Care on the advice of my doctor. I was prone to frequent eye infections. They have resolved since I switched solutions. Apparently it is quite common to develop allergies to the preservatives in traditional multipurpse contact solutions.

1 Star Use this product with caution
I’m surprised this product is allowed to be sold as it is.

Its appearance is too similar to other multipurpose contact lens solutions, and I used it as such and had the worst burning sensation to my eye I’ve ever experienced. I was concerned I had caused serious injury to my eye. I had to flush my eye with water for a long time as recommended under the FAQ section on the Ciba website (which is telling that it is addressed in the FAQ section).

This product requires the use of its own special container and contains hydrogen peroxide. So I essentially put hydrogen peroxide into my eye- OUCH. It must stay in its own container for 6 hours before it is neutralized and safe to put back into your eyes. You cannot place it in the usual flat lens case and you cannot rinse your lens with it and put them into your eye or you will pay.

The warnings on the product are inadequate in my opinion. If you look at the front of the box, there’s nothing to suggest that this is any different than other typical contact lens solutions. I will say there are warnings on the bottle itself but they are not nearly conspicuous enough. I have done a search on this product and its reviews and it is littered with people’s comments about having their eyes severely burned. I am definitely not the first person to have a negative experience like this and unfortunately, I fear I will not be the last. Hopefully, this warning will spare some of the experience I’ve had.

An ophthalmologist on the amazon reviews warns of the experience I just had and even advises considering seeking ophthalmology care. The consequences of improper use is too great for it to be sold as it is. Given the number of people it has affected, I will go as far as to say it should be taken off the market unless it is distributed in a much more careful manner to prevent the experience many people and I have had.

5 Stars Great product, but use with care
I’m an ophthalmologist, and I prefer this product to most of the multipurpose, no-rub contact lens solutions. I have sensitive eyes myself, and this product is essentially hydrogen peroxide that turns to water when placed in the special case. So it does not have any harsh chemicals once the reaction is done. In the morning, I rinse with sterile saline, and then insert the lenses.

However, I have seen patients that accidentally used this solution with a regular contact lens case, or rinsed their lenses with it prior to inserting in their eyes. This product can cause severe irritation and injury to the eyes if it has not been neutralized first! Flush the eyes vigorously if this happens, and see your ophthalmologist. Always use the special case with this solution. And you have to allow at least 6 hours for the solution to neutralize, so don’t use if you don’t have 6 hrs.

If I’m traveling, I usually use one of the multipurpose solutions with a regular case, just for simplicity. But I like to use the Clear Care when I’m home.

5 Stars solved all my contact problems!
I was having serious issues with my contacts until a great eye doctor finally suggested that it’s probably the contact solution (not the actual contacts) that I was sensitive to. Your basic, “all-in-1″ contact solutions are actually filled with preservatives and don’t actually CLEAN your contacts. They just sort of sit in this solution. Well….clear care actually cleans so well you can see it working! (It’s hydrogen peroxide) Anyway, it’s wonderful, and I can wear contacts all day long without any issues now. I highly recommend it…

5 Stars Best Solution I have Ever Used
After going through all the different contact solutions over eight years, I found out about Clear Care in the past year. I have to say, this solution has worked the best with my contact lens. I can wear my contacts from the moment I wake up until the moment I go to sleep without discomfort. In addition, I have been using my 2 week disposable contacts for about 2 months (I would not recommend this, I am waiting for my new contacts, just got lazy), and I still can wear them from the time I wake up till I sleep without discomfort. I also realized it helps to rinse the contacts a little after putting them in the dome, before putting them in their container. Sure this solution may be more expensive, but I believe it has improved the longevity of my contact lens.

Although, I never got any in my eye, I can imagine it would be painful. Some solution was spilled overnight once, and it broke down a new shiny nail, and made it look rusty.
