5 Stars OptiGear Soft Lens Inserter/Remover
I bought this inserter for home and a DMV soft lens inserter for my purse. I’m new to contact lenses but I’ve been wearing them now since

last fall. They’re multi focal soft contacts and I’ve been struggling with them since I got them. This inserter is a God Send!! I usually get the lenses in the first time with this tool. It’s fantastic. I would

recommend it to anyone who is wondering about it. It’s well worth the

price because it saves so much time and frustration. I haven’t lost a

lens either since I’ve been using it!! I would not recommend the DMV

soft lens inserter/remover. It’s not as handy as the one from OptiGear.

…..Sorry, it’s just the truth. The inserter plunger is larger and the

lens goes in much easier with the larger inserter plunger. As far as removing your lenses with either one of them, they aren’t that great

for that. But the OptiGear one does work somewhat better than the one from DMV. Luckily my worst problem is not getting them out.

1 Star Totally useless
This product is very hard to use. It bends when you try to grab the contact making it nearly impossible to get the contact out of the eye. This little piece of rubber is definitely not worth the money. In my opinion, a fair price would be 50 cents.

Can’t honestly recommend this. I found it’s actually easier to use your finger which rather negates the point of the purchase.

I have used this product for the last few months and it works great. It took a few days to get use to it, but now I can have both contacts out in under 30 seconds. The hardest part is just getting use to how to hold and position it. Once you figure that out, it is great. One thing I did learn was to make sure the gripper end is dry. If it is wet, it does not grab the contact as good. I have not used the one end that is for inserting your contact since I did not have a problem putting them in, just getting them out.

Things to remember when using it.

1) Dry gripper end(picture of product shows the end that is used for inserting a contact, remover is the one that is split in two)

2) Grip the thing as close to the ends possible

3) Align the end so that it makes contact across the entire gripper, not just one end/side or the other

4) Do not pinch the end until after you have made contact with your eye and then press slightly, then pinch.

I think most people that have problems with this think the contact is just going to magically jump out of there eye and onto the gripper, this is not a suction cup. You have to make contact and press the gripper against the contact and then squeeze with your fingers positions close to the end of the gripper or it will not work.

I couldn’t get my soft contacts out of my eyes for 30 minutes, my eyes were blood red trying so hard

I got on the computer and found the DMV soft contact Handler, I thought it was my only hope.

I finally got them in the mail, tried them, and tried them, and tried them, they are so soft the removal is totally awful, it will not pinch the contact, and I’m so upset. Guess it is back to using the fingers.

Don’t waste time and money on this.

Sorry for the bad review, but it is my experience with it.

I bought this product with the hope that I could get my soft contact lenses in and out of my eyes faster, but to my great disappointment, it doesn’t work for me at all. Now I have learned the real technique of inserting and removing my soft contact lenses with ease & comfort, so this “gadget” has landed in the trash can (good riddance)!
